And Summer Winds Arts & Music Camp

About Us

INTRODUCTION:
The Cross Street Training & Academic Center, Inc. is designed to instruct, reinforce, and/or enrich students’ academic skills in collaboration with their (school) teachers, (home) parents, and workplace (job).

The primary goal of this program is to provide a needed support system for helping children achieve foundational skills for constructing more complex learning in school today, in the future, and for lifelong learning.

Further, this tutorial program will facilitate learning through an array of teaching strategies and modalities. Initially, each student will be pre-tested to determine his/her strengths and weaknesses in reading, writing, thinking, listening, and speaking. Pre-testing is a valuable assessment used for driving appropriately needed instruction. Evaluation and assessments are ongoing, and post-testing will be performed before the end of the program’s school year.

Consideration will be given to understanding different learning styles and intelligences among children. Therefore, differentiation in tutoring modes or teaching strategies will be applied for “reaching and teaching” each student. It is evident that “one lesson plan does not fit all.” However, research says no one strategy is best for reaching all students, because each individual is unique and wonderful in his/her own way with respect to personal needs and background.
