To facilitate students learning basic skills and higher level thinking
To provide a climate conducive for learning, where students feel comfortable, secure and safe
To use tutorial strategies not so much to hear tutors teach, but to teach students how to learn, as they accept responsibility for their own learning
To offer one-to-one instruction, (2) pair and share, or (3) small groupings
To pre/post assess each student for determining strengths and, weaknesses for driving instruction for students’ success
To differentiate lessons that reach and teach all students served in acknowledgement of their different learning styles and multiple intelligences
To assist students with their homework daily as needed
To ensure students of appropriate grade level materials and techniques for best result
To make learning interesting, relevant, and enjoyable
To set aside at least thirty minutes each day for exercise, games, or recreation
